Team Kenya 's World Cup Performance
Team Kenya proved their skills by unexpectedly proceeding up to the semi-final in the 2003 Cricket World Cup. This team has some of the best batsmen like Steve Tikolo and Maurice Odumbe, and a spin bowler Asif Karim. In the 1975 World Cup, Kenya participated as a part of East Africa and reached the first round. In 1979 and up to 1992, they did not qualify. But in 1996 and in 1999, they reached first round and in 2003, they proceeded up to semi-final.
Team Kenya's 2007 World Cup Performance Preview
Kenya went on a span of about 18 months without playing an ODI (One Day International) after September 2004. But they were back playing International cricket again in February/March 2006. Then they had an opportunity to visit Bangladesh for a 4 match ODI series in late March 2006. On return from Bangladesh, they took on Holland in the Intercontinental Cup matches. In July 2006, they beat Canada in both ODI matches in Canada. Then there was a home series against Bermuda in November, where they won all 3 ODI matches. In early 2007, Kenya hosted and won the Division One of the ICC World Cricket League. Here, they took on Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, The Netherlands, and Scotland. It would be definitely interesting to see whether Team Kenya can repeat their 2003 World Cup performance.
