Australian Cricket Team |

Introduction
Australian Cricket Team is one of the oldest teams in the history of cricket. It was a part of the first ever cricket test match played in the history of the game. It made its debut in the year 1877 in a test match against England cricket team, which it won by a margin of 45 runs. From then onwards Australia has cemented its place as a very formidable side in the cricketing world. Australia is also successful in the other format of the game as well. It was the part of the first ever one day international cricket played. The contest was held in the year 1971 between Australia and England. It maintained it’s dominance in the shorter version of the game as well. For the past few years it has remained at the top of the charts in the team rankings released by the ICC. Till date Australia is the most successful team in the world cup cricket held after every four years.
Team Australia’s World Cup Performance Stats
Australian Cricket Team has been a part of the world cup cricket right from the very first event held in the year 1975 at England. For the first three world cup games they could not meet with any success. It was in the year 1987 when they lifted the first world cup. This year world cup moved out of England and was hosted by India and Pakistan together. Australia managed to end the West Indian dominance in the one day cricket. Australia repeated the feat in the year 1999 again at the world cup hosted by England. They retained the world cup by winning it again after four years. They were the champions of the last world cup held in 2003 at South Africa. They have become the only team to lift the world cup thrice. Thus by far Australian Cricket Team is the most successful team at the cricket world cup.
